The Hong Kong Junior Informatics Competition is the city's first student-run, inter-school competitive programming contest: written, built, and judged by students who compete themselves.
Two timed phases on our own judge, 1,000 points on the table. A team counts its two best scores. One day, in person, in Hong Kong. Free.

Partial credit is awarded per test case passed. Each problem is worth 150 points.

Each competitor is scored out of 1,000: 250 from theory, 750 from practical, with partial credit for every test case passed. A team's result is the sum of its two best individual scores, so the ceiling is 2,000. Enter solo and your score counts twice.

Nothing. Entry is free for every participant.
Students in Years 7 to 12, from any school in Hong Kong.
Teams are 1 to 5 players. You can enter solo; a solo team's score counts as that one person's score doubled.
C++, Python, and Java are all supported in the practical phase.
No. Problem A is a genuine warmup and the set climbs from there, so everyone solves something. The theory rewards careful reasoning, not memorisation. Beginners are welcome.
